Live music, traditional Caribbean foods and cultural conversation will bring the Rasta lifestyle to the senses Saturday.

The Bob Marley Celebration at H&H Lounge will offer locals a more in-depth look into the peaceful Rasta attitude.

"A lot of people don't know the real Rasta philosophy and Bob Marley's philosophy. We want to bring the whole movement of Rasta to the world," Ron Hardy, coordinator of the event and director of Playaz and Playettes, said.

The all-ages celebration will not only feature live entertainment, but it also will be an educational opportunity. Reggae videos, books and other Rasta items will be on sale.

The event, which begins at noon, is free but donations will be accepted to revive programming at the nonprofit performing arts center.

"We're trying to build a sound here. There are some really good musicians who have been playing 'Mustang Sally' type stuff and want to start doing some different stuff now," Hardy said.

H&H is an alcohol-free and family-oriented environment that aims to offer weekly programming.
