Its all happening on Sunday at the Blantyre Youth Centre when the country’s Rastas are set to rock the centre to fundraise for November 2 prayers in Ndirande.

People should expect more of the drumming and chanting, as echoes would be heard raising the name of Haile Selassie, the late Ethiopian Emperor who Rastas believe was an incarnation of God.

Although Selassie did not believe he was one, Rastas still insist he is but that that aside people should be anxiously waiting for an impressive show.

The show will be spiced by performances from The Black Missionaries, Sally Nyundo, Gift Fumulani, Toza Matafale, Buggle Tanks, Jedde I Tafari, Lion Dread, Limbani Banda, Melchizedeck Sons and Daughters, Natty Prince and Ras PD.

Speaking in an interview, Publicity Secretary for the fundraising Committee Jedde I Tafari said people should expect an impressive show on Sunday.

“We are not just performing to raise money but we are going to ensure that those who witness the event should have memories which will live forever,” he said.

He said people should come to the show because Rastas are for peace and that is what people should expect.

“Most people still don’t understand what Rastafarianism is all about. The show will give such people a chance to interact with us and see for themselves what we preach,” he said.

The prayers will be in celebration of 10 years of existence of the Rastafari House in the country.

The celebrations in November are expected to attract Rastas from Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the United Kingdom.
